Collaborative art project: Global Dialogue Platform Imagination Sessions

Anticipatory Action Reimagined is an artwork composed of 15 imaginaries, or small scenes, that explore possible futures for Anticipatory Action. These imaginaries emerged from 25 imagination sessions with participants drawn from across the international community of practice. The sessions blended art-based meditation, conversational inquiry, and collective reflection on writings by James Baldwin, Bayo Akomolafe, Hannah Arendt, Marta Benavides, and Barbara Leckie. Participants were invited to critically examine existing systems while also articulating concrete, tangible alternatives.

The work served as both stage backdrop and set design throughout the 2025 Global Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action in Berlin. Text and visuals from the imaginaries were also used as prompts for sessions and as materials for reflection. A selection of the imaginaries can be read below; the full set is available on the mural map here.
