A painting with embedded anticipatory action solutions for the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre flagship report. I love layering scenes within scenes (within scenes within scenes, ideally!) perhaps inspired by, amongst others, Flemish-born Clara Peeters’ almost-secret portraits within intricate goblet-like vessels, Hieronymus Bosch’s tiny-detailed scenes, or the original inspiration, iSpy books . Anticipatory action at its best is informed by layers of knowledge from different worldviews, successfully includes and integrates all parts of society, and is part of a strong, interlocking web of partners. It was a joy to create a piece of art that tries to show that visually.
